PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program
Program Overview
The purpose of the National Capital Consortium Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) Program is to develop pharmacists who are valued members of the healthcare team, achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes through the application of their knowledge.
In the Pharmacy Practice Residency at WRNMMC, residents will have the opportunity to participate in clinical, management, and distributive pharmacy services at our tertiary care, university affiliated teaching hospitals and referral facilities. The program provides flexibility for the residents to focus on individual interests and career goals.
Experiences include internal medicine, formulary management, pharmacy administration, critical care, oncology, and numerous others. Residents also participate in the medication use evaluation process, precept PharmD students, and provide education lectures. A research project, worthy of publication, is required.
