Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgeons are highly trained specialists dedicated exclusively to the care of disorders of the arteries and veins. As experts in the treatment of vascular disease, Vascular Surgeons are the only physicians today that offer all the treatment options available for vascular disease. Vascular Surgeons have been pioneers in the development of non-invasive medical management and minimally invasive, catheter-based procedures for treatment of the arteries and veins. We are also experts in time-honored operative techniques for the treatment of more severe conditions. Vascular Surgeons are the most qualified physicians to diagnose and treat diseases of the arteries and veins.

Our Vascular Surgery Service is among the oldest programs in the United States. We were one of the first to offer endovascular treatment. Clinical and research activities have resulted in more than 300 publications, 4 books, approximately 40 scientific exhibits, and more than 10 scientific movies. The academic contributions made by Military Vascular Surgery have shaped the thinking of vascular surgeons throughout the years and continues to do so.
