John P. Murtha Cancer Center Logo

The Prostate CoE, also known as the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR), is a DoD research and clinical care center established by the U.S. Congress in 1991 to care for military service members and their families diagnosed with prostate cancer and prostate-related disease. In 2010, the CPDR received the prestigious distinction of being designated a DoD Prostate Center of Excellence. In the past 20 years, the Prostate CoE has grown into a robust program that is internationally recognized as a premier prostate patient care and research center.

The Prostate CoE mission is to treat and educate patients with prostate cancer and prostatic diseases and to enroll patients for translational research thereby linking the basic science program to the clinical setting.
