Report to your Reserve mobilization site per your orders prior to reporting to Walter Reed.
If you are to report to Fort Belvoir Mobilization site, the mobilization site is located at Building 219 as indicated on your orders. This should take 1-3 days to complete.
While in-processing at Fort Belvoir, you can use your Government Travel Card to pay for expenses in the usual manner; be sure to save your receipts for travel reimbursement. Visit Fort Belvoir's lodging page. You can stay at a local hotel or use Fort Belvoir’s lodging facilities - please call for availability prior to arrival.
After your initial mobilization in-processing at Fort Belvoir, you will report to WRNMMC-Bethesda , Troop Command S-1, Building 14, Basement. From here you will in-process the unit and installation, which will take approximately 1-3 days to complete.
While in-processing WRNMMC-Bethesda, you can use the on-post Navy Lodge (call ahead for availability) or find a local hotel. Here is the link to WRNMMC-Bethesda’s on-post Navy Lodge. Due to local traffic congestion and on-post parking scarcity, we would recommend that you try to reserve a room at the on-post Navy Lodge (if vacancies exist) for the duration of your orders. However, you can pursue off-post housing options if you like.
Part of in-processing at Bethesda will entail going to the Housing Referral Office where you will obtain a Statement of Non-Availability (SNA), which will entitle you to seek off-post housing. You may be able to arrange some of this ahead of time by contacting the Housing Referral Office now (see WRNMMC Welcome Guide for contact information). Your orders entitle you to a substantial amount of per diem (except Retiree Recalls) each month that will be used to pay for your housing. You will not be "placed" in housing; rather, you will have to search for housing on your own, stay at the on-post Navy Lodge, or use one of the companies offered through the Housing Referral Office that will find an apartment for you. If you use one of the companies that finds an apartment for you, all of your per diem will be exhausted via rent payments and fees paid to the company that coordinates the apartment details for you. Explore the options above. If you want to set up housing prior to your arrival, please call Mr. Price at 301-295-8011 or email: jimmy.r.price.civ@mail.mil.
Also, if you do not currently have a Government Travel Card (GTC), please contact your unit right away to apply for one. The WRNMMC Reserve DTS Manager is Rick Lynn (301-295-8201) - he can also assist if you have trouble obtaining a GTC and explain the particulars of your per diem payments, such as amounts and the payment method.
Additionally, your Finance and Personnel requirements will be taken care of during in-processing at your mobilization site, Fort Belvoir, or Bethesda. Bring copies of your orders, marriage certificate, dependent birth certificates, and the like as they apply to you.
