New Access Requirement for Pedestrians at NSAB
Posted November 21, 2025
Beginning Feb. 9, 2026, Naval Support Activity Bethesda (NSAB) will implement two-factor authentication at automated pedestrian turnstiles. Pedestrians will scan an eligible CAC/DBIDS ID and enter a new 5-8 digit PIN for turnstile access. PIN setup is available at the NSAB Visitor Control Center (VCC), Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Only CAC and DBIDS cards can use a PIN. If your card doesn’t read or you need to reset your PIN, please visit the VCC.
Important reminder: The hospital security office cannot assist with turnstile PINs. All patients, visitors, and Metro commuters who use the pedestrian gates should report to the VCC.
