Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is Q-Anywhere?
A1: It's a remote queuing system for NEW prescriptions that allows you to virtually "get in line" at the pharmacy without waiting in-person. You can use this service from anywhere (home, store, etc.).
Q2: Can I request refills using Q-Anywhere?
A2: No. It's only for NEW and renewal prescriptions.
Q3: What is the difference between Refills and Renewals? Aren’t they the same?
A3: No, they are not the same. If your provider authorizes refills on your prescription, you can fill the prescription and refill it up to the authorized number of times. Depending on the medication, your prescription may expire within one year or less, including any unused refills. By contrast, a renewal is required when your original prescription expires or runs out of refills. In this case, your provider must order a new prescription to continue your medication.
Q4: Can I close out the web page messaging system once I get my Q-number?
A4: Please keep the web page open to receive real time updates from our pharmacy staff regarding your prescriptions and notifications to pick up your prescriptions when they are ready for pick up.
Q5: Will I lose my spot if I'm not present when called?
A5: No. If you leave the pharmacy after arriving to pick up your prescription using Q-Anywhere, simply re-text "I’m here" when you return to the pharmacy.
Q6: Why are the Q-numbers called out of order?
A6: Some prescriptions take more time to prepare than others. One patient may have a single medication while another patient may have many medications.
Q7: Why is my medicine not ready? My doctor/nurse told me it would be ready.
A7: The pharmacy will process prescriptions only when notified by the patient. This can be done by activating your prescription using Q-Anywhere or by checking in at the kiosk in the pharmacy lobby.
Q8: Why aren't more pharmacy windows open?
A8: Staffing levels don't always allow us to use all the pharmacy windows.
Q9: Does Q-Anywhere work when the pharmacy is closed?
A9: Q-Anywhere is available 24/7. However, the pharmacy staff will process your prescription request during normal business hours.
Q10: Why can’t I use the Q-number from yesterday?
A10: Your Q-number is only valid on the day it was issued. If you were unable to pick-up your prescriptions that day, you will have to start a new Q-Anywhere request.
Q11: Can I use Q-Anywhere to request prescriptions for multiple members of the family?
A11: Yes, after entering the first DOD ID number and getting the confirmation the patient has been added, enter the next DOD ID number. Up to four patients can be added.
Q12: How can I get my prescriptions if I can't use a cell phone?
A12: You may use Q-Anywhere on your personal computer to activate your prescriptions, using the link provided at the top of the page. You may also get new prescriptions by visiting the pharmacy in person, or using
TRICARE Home Delivery or a TRICARE Network Pharmacy.
Q13: What should I do when I receive a text that my prescriptions are ready for pick up?
A13: Please line up at the designated pick-up window at the pharmacy you selected for your prescriptions to be processed.
