The Warrior Family Coordination Cell (WFCC) provides comprehensive non-medical support for Wounded, Ill, and Injured (WII) service members and their families at Walter Reed. It coordinates efforts between Walter Reed, the military services, government entities, and civilian organizations to optimize the health, safety, and readiness of our Nation’s heroes and successfully reintegrate them back into society after serious injury or illness. The Operations Section of the WFCC provides event and donation coordination to provide opportunities for WII service members to enjoy wholesome activities on and off NASB to aid in their recovery.
Thank you for your interest in donating, requesting a visit, or hosting an event with the Wounded, Ill, and Injured Service Members at Walter Reed! Gifts or donations to Walter Reed for WII and non-WII service members for the benefit of all or a specific clinic may be accepted. Gifts and donations can be in the form of cash, art, or equipment. Gifts to individual personnel are prohibited. However, individual items given to Walter Reed for distribution are permitted, such as tickets to a sporting event or outing. Proffer (offer) applications must include the following:
Please note: Gifts, goods, services, visitors, and other specified items included in the proffer will be the only things accepted on the day of the event. Proffer applications must be submitted no less than 30 days in advance to the preferred date of your event. To request or submit a proffer application, please contact our events coordinator: Email: dha.bethesda.walter-reed-med-ctr.mbx.wfcc@health.mil Telephone: 855-360-HERO(4376) Please contact the HERO line or email the WFCC for more information about your unsolicited donation, visit, or event. We appreciate your unwavering support of our Nation's Heroes.
We encourage patient independence to achieve rehabilitation and reintegration goals. Therefore, assignment of a medical or staff attendant is the exception, not the rule, and assignment of an attendant requires senior leadership approval. If an attendant is deemed necessary, Walter Reed will assign an available attendant at the government’s expense.
If you require base access for an event coordinated through the WFCC, please email: dha.bethesda.walter-reed-med-ctr.mbx.wfcc@health.mil or call 855-360-HERO(4376). For more information, visit the Planning Your Visit page.
