About Us

The Oakleaf Club of Greater Washington, DC

The Oakleaf Club is a social and benevolent organization made up of a diverse group of men and women residing in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area with one common thread–Military Medicine. The club has a main focus of supporting our military community through ongoing benevolence projects and we are also committed to promoting friendship through social activities and interest groups. Oakleaf is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, which is governed by a board of directors – all of whom are elected annually.

What does Oakleaf Do?

Benevolence

Raise funds to fulfill special staff and patient requests for the clinics at WRNMMC to improve the day-to-day experience for hospital visitors and staff.

Wounded Warriors

Raise funds to host events for Wounded Warriors and their families, provide individual decorations at the holidays, and buy and distribute needed supplies.

Books4Kids

Collect and distribute books in the Pediatric Clinic and the Pediatric Dental Clinic as a part of this literacy program.

Fisher House

Help contribute a hot, home-cooked meals for the families of WRNMMC’s wounded and critical patients.

Mary Jane Sanford

Lend a hand with the Annual WRNMMC Cancer Art Show in support of those who struggle with cancer.

Hospitality

Help fellow members by welcoming new babies, offering a shoulder to grieving members, supporting members who have deployed spouses, or making meals for a friends in need.

All active, retired, reserve officers and their spouses or significant others, as well as GS 7 and above, affiliated with Military Health Services are eligible for membership.

Group Meeting Information:
Board Meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of the month. This varies as does the time. We also have several other gatherings each month.
