Breast Care and Research Center

The Breast Care and Research Center is the result of the merger of National Naval Medical Center’s Breast Center and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Clinical Breast Care Project bringing the best of clinical care and research to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Our program utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to breast disease, integrating prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment with advances in risk reduction, tissue banking, research, and informatics.

Services We Provide or Support:

• Detection and follow-up screening at our Breast Imaging Center
• Pre and post-operative breast care
• Physical therapy including pre-operative assessment, post-operative therapy and lymphedema management
• Educational resources
• Case management
• Social work services such as individual or family counseling/psychotherapy and various support groups
• Genetic counseling
• Breast cancer research
