Pharmacy America in Building 19 will close for a three-week renovation project beginning January 10. To help you navigate our pharmacy services from Building 19 during the renovation, pharmacy teams will be available in the lobby, General Internal Medicine Service, and the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please note, Pharmacy Arrowhead, Arrowhead ScriptCenter, NEX ScriptCenter, and the Drive-Thru Pick-Up Trailer will operate as usual.

Attention: NEX ScriptCenter Self-Service Locker System Is Available For Prescription Refill Pickups!

You can request refills by calling the Refill Line at 1-800-377-1723 for pickup at the NEX ScriptCenter self-service lockers during Navy Exchange (NEX) store hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sundays and federal holidays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Pharmacy

Pharmacy services are some of the most popular benefits for our patients. Prescription medications may be obtained at our pharmacies at no cost. Beneficiaries may also receive medications using TRICARE Home Delivery or a TRICARE Network Pharmacy.

Pharmacy Operations

  • NEW prescriptions must be processed at either the Pharmacy America or Pharmacy Arrowhead.
  • Skip the line with Q-Anywhere to activate new prescriptions for same-day pick-up at Walter Reed! To use this service, please use our secure link and follow the prompts. Alternatively, you may text "Get in Line" to 833-201-9306. Learn more>>

  • REFILL prescriptions must be picked up at the Drive-Thru Pick-Up Trailer, NEX ScriptCenter, or 24/7 Arrowhead ScriptCenter. Same-day refills are not permitted.

Safety

To ensure accurate dispensing of medication, we use an automated robotic system to fill prescriptions. This technology guides the pharmacy staff at each step in the prescription filling process, minimizing the potential for human error. Its bar code technology also helps to reduce wait times.

Efficiency

Our pharmacies process approximately 65,000 prescriptions each month. Due to the high volume of pharmacy visitors, we recommend beneficiaries become familiar with our procedures and routines. Simple measures such as using the automated call-in refill service, taking the appropriate ticket(s) at the pharmacy, and having the patient's identification card readily available will minimize delays and keep operations moving as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Electronic Prescribing (eRx)

We participate in eRx, a safe and secure method that eliminates bringing handwritten prescriptions to the pharmacy. With eRx, civilian providers can electronically transmit prescriptions to our pharmacy at DoDWalterReedNEXePhcy/NCDP 2138407/NPI#1184030223.
