Providing inpatient care for infants and children in a family-centered atmosphere

At WRNMMC-Bethesda, we offer comprehensive inpatient care for both medical and surgical pediatric patients. Our new, state-of-the-art inpatient facilities include 17 private patient rooms and 5 Pediatric ICU rooms, all designed with family, patient and safety in mind. In addition to the normal well-baby service, WRNMMC-Bethesda serves as the military regional referral center for critically-ill and premature infants, serving this special population through our highly specialized 26-bed level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Integral to the pediatric care mission, the Pediatric Sedation Unit and co-located Endoscopy Suite support diagnostic evaluations such as CT, MRI, EEG and echocardiography with a dedicated staff of professional s to obtain the best quality studies with the least discomfort to the child. Invasive procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy are all completed in our state-of-the-art endoscopy and procedure suite.

In addition to the complete range of pediatric medical subspecialties, the pediatric surgical subspecialties of pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, orthopedics, plastic surgery and urology are represented to provide comprehensive surgical care for children.
