National Capital Consortium Graduation celebrates military medical graduates

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Walter Reed National Military Medical Center hosted the 2025 National Capital Consortium (NCC) graduation June 13 at the Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Peer Connect training available at Walter Reed

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Peer Connect is a confidential peer-to-peer support program at Walter Reed that helps military and civilian personnel navigate difficult conversations, including those involving medical errors and workplace stress. The program is available to all team members upon request, facilitated by a select group of leaders who have volunteered to serve as peer support mentors, offering their time, empathetic ears, and wisdom.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Research focused on enhancing the care and readiness of service members and their families again led the way in this year’s poster competition, held annually during May by the Department of Research Programs (DRP) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Walter Reed recognizes nursing excellence

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) in 2006 while on his third combat tour in Afghanistan, U.S. Army Col. Kenneth Dwyer said, “I am only here today because of the dedication, excellence, and commitment of practitioners of military medicine, and especially, nurses.”

Leaders thank military caregivers for selfless service

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — The support military caregivers provide others is often assumed and frequently goes without thanks, but those gathered recently in the USO on Naval Support Activity Bethesda, home to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, paused to recognize the selfless service and care they render.

Construction is scheduled to begin soon on the next phase of Walter Reed's Medical Center Additions and Alterations (MCAA) project, MCAA North, which will include a new auditorium, the circular building in the artist's rendering of the completed project above.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Walter Reed’s Refractive Surgery Center provides care to enhance the operational readiness of active-duty service members.

Health care providers recommend not only using sunscreen, but also clothing to protect your skin from the sun’s UV rays, not using tanning beds, booths or sunlamps, and doing monthly self-checks in addition to regularly screenings by a doctor.
