Neurosurgery
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Neurosurgery remains the military’s leader in the care of servicemen and women who have suffered traumatic brain and spinal column injury during war. Since 2003, our neurosurgery staff has cared for greater than 95% of all severe central nervous system injuries from Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom, and are the recognized world leaders in the surgical and critical care management of penetrating brain injury.
Though providing world class neurotrauma and critical care remains our primary mission, WRNMMC neurosurgery provides subspecialty and fellowship trained expertise in all areas of neurosurgery. We serve all active duty, dependent, and retiree personnel, and accept referrals from all over the world.
