Permanent Sidewalk, Hallway and Building Closures

Updated September 30, 2025

Permanent sidewalk, hallway and building closures may significantly change the way you get around the medical center. The closures and changes listed below are part of the north phase of the Medical Center Addition and Alterations (MCAA) project.

Key Details:

  • A construction zone along Brown Drive closes the area between the Liberty Zone (Building 39) and the North Garage (Building 63).
  • North and Liberty Garages (Buildings 63 and 54) remain open for use.
  • Access to North Garage from Brown Drive is entry-only.
  • The North Garage exit on Brown Drive is now an ADA-compliant pedestrian pathway to allow continued access from Brown Drive to Buildings 3, 5, and 19.
  • Twelve handicap parking spaces were relocated within North Garage to ensure continued accessibility.
  • Demolition of Buildings 2 and 7 will continue throughout the rest of the year.
  • Corridor connecting the President Zone to the Heroes and America Zones is closed.
  • New exits are available at the east end of the President Zone which lead to the Roosevelt Pavilion (Bldg. 39) courtyard.
