Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics addresses the developmental, behavioral and emotional needs of patients 0-21 years of age. We seek to identify our patients’ strengths and challenges, and develop individualized plans for intervention. Coordinated care may include treatment planning, medication management, and recommendations for further assessments or additional therapeutic strategies.
We provide inpatient and outpatient services. Outpatient services include comprehensive care delivered by developmental and behavioral pediatricians, advanced nurse practitioners, child psychologists, pediatric physical and occupational therapists, and pediatric speech pathologists that collaborate with a wide range of other pediatric specialists to assist our patients with their unique health needs.
All of our providers are board-certified or licensed in their areas of expertise, and maintain regular continuing education to ensure the most up-to-date evaluations and treatments. Our experts give the individualized care our patients need, and case managers are available to help coordinate and minimize appointments and visits.
What Makes Us Unique
Our specialists receive referrals from the National Capital Region and around the world, and handle more than 4,000 patient visits per year. However, access to our appointments often exceeds local civilian availability by several months!
We have ten multidisciplinary care teams that offer several provider appointments in a single day. Best of all, as providers within the Military Health System, we understand the unique needs of our military families and the resources available to assist them wherever they may be.
