Internal Medicine Gastroenterology Fellowship
Overview
The National Capital Consortium is the largest gastroenterology fellowship in the Department of Defense with a maximum of 15 fellows. The program operates as a tertiary care referral center with specialized service lines for therapeutic endoscopy, hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, motility, and general gastroenterology. We have cooperative agreements with both Georgetown University and the University of Maryland as well which allow the fellows to gain experience caring for patients in different environments. WRNMMC offers world class research opportunities with over 20 active protocols in the Gastroenterology Division and the opportunity to collaborate with the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Naval Medical Research Center, Walter Reed Army Institute for Research, and more.
