Postdoctoral Fellowship Values

The mission of the Walter Reed  National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program in Clinical Neuropsychology is to provide clinical, didactic, and academic training in order to produce an advanced level of competence in the specialty of clinical neuropsychology, to complete the education and training necessary for independent practice in the specialty, and to develop specific skills relating to the unique applications of clinical neuropsychology in the military environment.

The fellowship provides education and training in the science of brain-behavior relationships throughout the life span, and in the application of the principles of assessment and intervention based on the scientific study of individuals with normal and abnormal central nervous system functioning. Training has sufficient breadth to ensure advanced competence as a professional psychologist and sufficient depth and focus to ensure professional and technical expertise in the area of clinical neuropsychology.  The education and training activities are cumulative, graduated in complexity, and structured in terms of sequence, intensity, duration, and frequency. The WRNMMC Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program in Clinical Neuropsychology strives for excellence through continuous self-study and evaluation of resources, process, and outcomes. The values and principles of the WRNMMC Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program in Clinical Neuropsychology are consistent with the mission, goals, and culture of WRNMMC and the United States Army.
